For those interested in the state of relations across the Taiwan Strait, the English language web service of Xinhuanet said that the award ceremony took place in "Taipei, southeast China's Taiwan".
A few highlights--
Kara Hui looked fit and relaxed, as glamorous as ever on the red carpet:
And at a nominees party beforehand:
Shu Qi was quite ShuQi-ish:
Hao Lei went with a (very) casual look at the party:
but cleaned up very nicely when it was time to hit the red carpet:
In case anyone missed that Vivian Hsu was wearing an extreme split skirt:
she gave everyone another good look:
Angelica Lee was lovely in red while Rene Liu tries to recall if she brought her travel iron:
Tang Wei wondered if it was going to rain:

"Love In Space" pins hopes for box office on B-List cast
Apparently accepting the long discredited idea of "quantity becomes quality", a vulgar-Marxist notion that one imagines wouldn't be congenial to the cultural cognoscenti of the People's Republic, the producers of "Love In Space" piled up the second tier stars because "one is not enough but several altogether can attract more fans," according film critic Hu Liang.
Here are the stars back in March celebrating the beginning of principal photography for the movie not realizing that their efforts would be relegated to the late summer ghetto of non-prime players.

China "Vogue" dressed up some of the stars for its October issue.

Rene Liu in fashion magazine for "Space Angel"
I have seen Rene Liu only in "World without Thieves", a movie in which she stood out amidst a cast that included Ge You, Andy Lau and Fan Bingbing. While her main career seems to be as a singer the masses of diva-starved movie goers is thrilled with her return to the big screen in "Space Angel". In the interview with Sina she said that she loved Terrence Malick's "Tree of Life" and fell asleep during "Transformers 3", so take that, Michael Bay.
Sina has her interview.
