Twins photoshopped to look topless

Charlene, Gillian and a fierce looking hawk were put together in Photoshop to promote a new album. They might have been stripped to the waist and there might have been feathers scattered around the set but the curved beak and sharp talons of the predatory bird never got close to them.

They did look lovely cuddling in feather inspired chain mail.

More ladies in red

An improbably elongated (a combination of unfortunate camera angles and sloppy Photoshop work) Xu Xi-Yan lounges on the stairs.

The Twins in the land of pandas and brocade

Gillian and Charlene were in Chendu recently and stopped long enough for some oddly lit photographs.

Closing Red Carpet at Golden Rooster Awards

The awards have been handed out at the Mainland's answer to the Academy Awards and some of our favorites hit the red carpet; their outfits ranged from demure to stripperific.
Vicki Zhao Wei was the image ambassador this year. She was the MC for the awards themselves, introducing the presenters and other performers plus filming an underwater dance with a couple of male dancers--but more on that later. She looked elegant in a black dress with an art deco texture. She may not have realized how transparent it became when the camera flashes hit it.

Zhou Weitong and her stylist knew exactly how this already transparent with strategically placed patches dress would look--this isn't the first time she has worn a variation of it. One of the oddities of Google automatic translation from Chinese to English is that this becomes a "clairvoyant" dress. Which it might be.

The Twins stood out in bright (almost) primary colors.

The unmistakable Queen of Swords, Cheng Pei Pei, is on the left.

Three looks on actresses emphasizing their cleavage. First is Gong Xinliang in an outfit that falls between grotesque and really stupid. She leads with her strength but doesn't look happy about it.

Li Yifei in a classic look that has been a favorite red carpet look for busty women for decades.

Chrissie Chow keeps it simple with a plunging neckline. Hu Ge serves as her arm candy and looks quite smug about it.

Huang Lu in a classic Empire waist dress; the color would work almost anywhere except on a red carpet where it clashed badly. She is accompanied by Ye Shanhao.

Li Ai in a black chiffon-y dress and ballet flats--the other side of the stripper platforms that show up occasionally.

Vivian Hsu in a sequined flapper dress and oddly colored shoes. She manages to look great all the time wearing just about anything.

Lots more at Ifeng and Sohu.

The Twins and the Empress Dowager

Charlene and Gillian went to Shanghai for the opening of a Vivienne Westwood store and were decked out in her fashion as a comment on fashion outfits complete with Frankenstein shoes and devil horns. Xinhau has the better story (from which the moniker "Empress Dowager for Vivienne is taken) while Sina has better pictures.

Presented to the Empress:

Question: "How do you walk in those things?" Answer: "Very carefully":

Gillian and Charlene open tour in Guangzhou

The Twins are hitting the road, beginning the Asia part of the tour in Guangzhou. Xinhau reports that Jackie Chan, Andy Lau, Ekin Cheng, Hacken Lee, Hins Cheung, Wong Cho Lam and others sent their blessings. No word on Edison Chen's reaction.

Gillian missed her cartwheel--she wasn't injured and the world kept turning on its axis

Next after the Asian tour will be Canada so start saving your loonies

The Twins appear as brand ambassadors for bread n butter fashion line

bread n butter is variously described as a "French lifestyle fashion brand originated in Paris, owned by ZTAMPZ GROUP that provides fashionable items with a global distribution network" making it sound like a successful logistics company and also as a "a middle-high end contemporary ladies fashion brand established in France since 2002", a description that is both highly specific (time and place) and maddeningly vague (middle high end of what?). They are well established in China--16 stores in Hong Kong, many more in Mainland cities--and feature, among others, Sammi Cheng in their advertising.

Gillian Choi and Charlene Chung grabbed their heart shaped purses and blue feather stoles for a photo-op personal appearance at one of the stores, looking much too cute and perky for two women whose combined age is very close to sixty years.

Charlene may want to spend more time in the gym or skip the mini-skirts entirely.

The wheels of commerce grind on; the Twins cut a ribbon in Whampoa

HMV opened a store in Whampoa; Charlene Choi and Gillian Chung were there to help with the retail festivities. Gillian looked relaxed and happy to be there

Charlene did not

Both Charlene and Gillian seem comfortable in the crush of fans/shoppers

HMV goes all out when opening a store

They even hired professional ribbon holders to make sure everything went according to plan.

Many more pictures of the event at Sina and on HMV's Facebook page.
