Qi Xi and Hao Lei in Cannes for "Mystery"
Mystery tells of a young mother who discovers her husband is leading a double life, with dramatic consequences for all involved. It is playing in the "Un Certain Regard" competition and is a triumphant (one hopes) return to the Cannes Film Festival for director Lou Ye who premiered Summer Palace at the festival in 2006 in defiance of a ban by Chinese authorities. It marks Lou's return to officially sanctioned film-making in the PRC and stars Qi Xi and Hao Lei, shown here flanking co-star Qin Hao at the press conference.
