Mavis Fan punked out, Kwai Lun-Mei elegant for Berlin red carpet

Nothing bothers Tsui Hark, not even encountering a possibly unexpected set of spikes. He does keep his hand at a safe distance on the red carpet for the premier of "Flying Swords of Dragon Gate".

Mavis Fan and Kwai Lun-Mei were a study in contrasts but both of them looked great.

Mavis's fans seemed appropriately hyped:
(the spiked back on that gown seems impractical for sitting through the premier)

while things were enthusiastic if a bit less frantic for Kwai Lun-Mei.

Zimbio continued to lead the way in quality control, this time identifying Mavis Fan as Zhou Xun. Such as in this picture and caption:

    I guess it's progress that she wasn't ID'd as Maggie Cheung. 8(

  3. I was thinking that Mavis Fan could have been a Valkyrie from one of the less daring productions of the "Ring" cycle at Bayreuth but Thunderdome sounds better.

  4. Mavis is one of the few people who could pull off this look, which is a little too cartoony for my taste. I must say I prefer the simple sweetness of Kwai Lun-mei's dress.

I found this picture amusing because in the film it's Mavis who plays the palace handmaiden on the run, while Kwai Lun-mei plays the tattooed warrior princess.

  5. Mavis looks like she is enjoying herself--very confident and glad to be there. Her make-up is perfect, just a bit garish but it matches her outfit.
